The United Republic of Tanzania had re-opened its borders since the beginning of June 2020. Since then the islands of Zanzibar had once more been accessible to the world.
Fully-vaccinated travellers no longer need a PCR test and only require a vaccination certificate with QR code to travel to Tanzania, including Zanzibar. Unvaccinated travellers 5yrs and older require a negative PCR test result taken 72hrs prior to departure. Travelers are also urged to take the necessary precautions as seen below:

In the meantime, there is only one government health facility in-charge of COVID-19 testing in Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba):
Mfikiwa COVID-19 Center: This facility no longer operates!
Located in Pemba Island. We don't book this facility as we don't cover itineraries in Pemba.
Makunduchi COVID-19 Center:
Located 60km away from Stone Town. Recommended for clients staying on the Southern part of the island such as Bwejuu, Paje, Jambiani, Kizimkazi, Michamvi etc.
Pwani Mchangani COVID-19 Center:
Located 38km away from Stone Town. Recommended for clients staying on the Northern part of the island such as Nungwi, Kiwengwa, Matemwe etc.
Global Hospital:
Located in Stone Town. This center is meant for locals and nonresidents. We don't book this facility as the tests are overcharged.
Lumumba COVID-19 Center: This facility no longer operates!
Located 2km away from Stone Town. The facility is at the Lumumba Secondary School premises. Recommended for those staying in the city area.
Migombani COVID-19 Center:
Located 5km away from Stone Town. The facility is at the Cambridge Charter Academy premises.
How much is the COVID-19 test in Zanzibar?
The cost is as follows:
PCR Test: $80 per person
Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test: $25 per person
How to obtain your COVID-19 result certificate?
The COVID-19 result certificate is an electronic one. Once the result is in it would be sent to your email.
How the transport from your accommodation works?
We pick you up from your accommodation to take you to the facility, we'll have the driver waiting for you until you are done. Then he will drop you off at your accommodation.
